My research for my capstone project that I am doing in April is all about the relationship between distracted time students spend in class and assessment scores. I wish to know if there is an actual correlation between the two, and I also would like to find out how students can best use their time in class for their learning styles as well.
My current essential question is: How can the amount of distracted time students use in class help me to predict the assessment scores they earn?
I plan on conducting a correlational experiment in the class that I am in as well as giving the students a survey about their learning styles to also see if there is confounding variables of the way in which they learn that contributes to distracted time and/or assessment scores. I think that an experiment and survey will be the best modes to showcase this information for my capstone.
I also plan on reading books, visiting websites, studying previously done experiments, and conducting teacher and student interviews to get a real grasp on distracted time during class.
